In short

  • One PDF of about 32 pages: 14 model letters for one profession.
  • Each letter has its case notes, the task, the letter and why it works.
  • $9 for a pack. Written for practice; not OET test content.

The kinds of letter in a pack

Letter typeWhat the models show
Referral lettersAsking a colleague to assess or treat: the request first, then the evidence for it.
Discharge lettersHanding over care: what happened, what changed, and what the reader must do now.
Transfer lettersCare that continues without a gap: current status, what is in progress, what is next.
Advice and update lettersWriting to a patient, a carer or a GP: plain, respectful language and only what that reader needs.

The mix of letter types differs by profession, as it does in the test: a dentistry pack has more referrals, a nursing pack more discharge letters.

Want your own letters marked? The OET Writing Pass Course teaches these 14 letters one a day and marks yours, and our OET correction packages are corrected by hand. For free annotated examples, see OET writing samples.

Questions about the packs

Frequently asked questions

What is in a pack?+

One PDF of about 32 pages with 14 model letters for your profession. Each letter comes with its case notes, the task, and notes on why the letter works, criterion by criterion.

Which professions have a pack?+

Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Physiotherapy. Each pack has its own cases and letters written for that profession.

Are these real OET exam letters?+

No. Every set of case notes and every letter was written by our team for practice, and every patient is invented. They are not OET test content, and we are not affiliated with OET.

Should I memorise the model letters?+

No. A memorised letter does not fit new case notes, and assessors can tell. Write your own letter from the case notes first, then compare it with the model: the opening, what is left out, and the order of the paragraphs.

I am taking the OET Writing Pass Course. Do I need the pack?+

No. The pack contains the same 14 model letters that the course shows you after you write each letter. The pack is for people who want the letters without the lessons and marking.

How do I receive it?+

The download link appears on this page as soon as you pay, and we email it to you as well. The PDF is marked with your email address and is for your own use.
