Send a letter for correction

How to send an OET letter with its case notes from your letters page, when we correct, and how to follow your letter until it is back.

In short

  • Send each letter with its case notes from your letters page. You can send one letter a day.
  • Letters are corrected from Friday 9 am to Tuesday 9 pm Cairo time. A letter sent while we are closed joins the Friday queue.
  • The page shows when your letter reaches your educator and when it is due back, and we email you when it is ready.

Steps

  1. 1

Open My courses and press "Send a letter" on your letter pack, or open the link in your pack email.

  2. 2

Under "1. The case notes and task", paste the case notes or attach a photo or file. Use at least 40 characters, or attach a file.

  3. 3

Under "2. Your letter", type or paste your letter (at least 80 characters), or attach photos of each handwritten page, a PDF or a Word file.

  4. 4

    Press "Send to your teacher".

  5. 5

Follow your letter's card: Sent, then Friday queue or With your teacher, then Corrected. We email you when it is ready.

Before you send

Write the letter in 45 minutes, like the exam. If you need a task, take one from the free case notes library. Your letters page shows how many letters you have left in the pack.

Files

You can attach up to 6 files, each up to 12 MB. Accepted: photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP), PDF, Word (DOC, DOCX), text, RTF and ODT. A letter on more than one page: attach each page in order, up to 3 pages. Photos of the case notes count towards the limit of 6 files.

If you type or paste your letter, you also get an AI score straight away while you wait. It is shown apart from your educator's marks.

One letter a day, and when we are open

You can send one letter a day. Letters are corrected from Friday 9 am to Tuesday 9 pm Cairo time, and we are closed on Wednesday and Thursday. A letter sent while we are closed is not lost: it joins the Friday morning queue. The page shows the exact time it reaches your educator and when it is due back, in your own time zone with Cairo time beside it. Your pack's turnaround (24, 48 or 72 hours) starts when your educator receives the letter. The page says "often sooner".

Sending by email

If your letters page shows a letters email address in the box "Or email it", you can email your letter as a PDF, Word file or photo from the address you paid with, with the case notes typed in the message or attached. It appears on the page within a minute.

After the last letter

When every letter in the pack is sent, the page asks you to share your review and OET result, and a progress report PDF appears when all letters are corrected. See correction reports.

Questions about a letter or your account go in the Questions box at the bottom of the letters page (press "Send question"). See contact Dr Mariam's team.
