Getting started

Sign in and use two devices

How to sign in to your OET courses with a 6-digit emailed code or the sign-in button, and how the two-device, 30-day rule works.

In short

  • You sign in with a 6-digit code emailed to the address you paid with, or with the sign-in button in our emails.
  • One sign-in opens everything you bought, on up to two devices, and each stays signed in for 30 days.
  • A third device signs out the one you used least recently.

Steps

  1. 1

Open My courses from the site menu, or open the link in any email we sent you after you paid.

  2. 2

If the page asks you to sign in, type the email address you paid with and press "Email me a code". If your link names your purchase, the page shows your address part-hidden and you press the same button.

  3. 3

Open the email. Either type the 6-digit code and press "Sign in", or tap "Sign in on this device" in the email.

  4. 4

Use your courses. This device stays signed in for 30 days.

Why you sign in

Your lessons, downloads, recordings and correction reports belong to the email address you paid with. Signing in on a device proves the email is yours. Free courses need no sign-in.

Two ways to sign in

  • Code: we email a 6-digit code to the address you paid with. The code works for 20 minutes, and a new code replaces the old one, so always use the newest email.
  • Sign-in button: the "Sign in on this device" button in a code email, and the sign-in links in our other emails, sign in the device you tap them on. The link in a code email works for 20 minutes. The key in our other emails works for up to 7 days.

Two devices, 30 days each

One sign-in opens everything you bought with that email. Each device stays signed in for 30 days. You can have two devices signed in at once. If you sign in on a third device, the one you used least recently is signed out.

A sign-in button in an email works for whoever taps it, and it uses one of your two devices. Please do not forward our emails.

If something goes wrong

  • No email: look in your spam folder, check that you typed the address you paid with, then press "Send a new code". We send up to 5 codes an hour for one address. The page gives the same answer for every address, so it never tells you whether an address has bought anything.
  • Wrong code: after repeated wrong codes, sign-in pauses for 15 minutes.
  • "Your access ended on ...": the purchase has run out. See access length and refunds.
  • Still stuck: write to [email protected] from the address you paid with.

Questions about this

How many devices can I use?+

Two for each email address. Each device stays signed in for 30 days. If you sign in on a third device, the one you used least recently is signed out.

How long does the sign-in code last?+

20 minutes. Asking for a new code replaces the old one, so use the newest email. You can ask for up to 5 codes an hour for one address.

I did not get the code. What should I do?+

Check your spam folder and make sure you typed the email you paid with. Then press "Send a new code". If nothing arrives after a few minutes, write to [email protected].

Can I share my sign-in with someone else?+

No. Your courses belong to one email address and two devices. A sign-in button in an email works for whoever taps it, so please do not forward our emails.
