What the Today card shows
Each task has a title, the skill (Writing, Speaking, Reading, Listening, Grammar or Mixed), the minutes it takes and, where it helps, a line saying why it is there. A task marked "Free" is not part of a course you bought. The "This week" list below shows the rest of the week.
The plan is built from your exam date, your hours a week, your profession and Writing target, and what you own. A badge shows how many days remain to your exam. On exam day the card says "Good luck today". After the exam it asks you to add your result, or to set your next exam date.
The four answers
- Exam date: any date within three years. If you have not booked, tick "I haven't booked yet".
- Hours a week: 2, 4, 7, 10, 14 or 20.
- Profession: choose from the list of twelve OET professions.
- Writing target: Grade B or Grade C+. Check your regulator's requirement through the link under the field. See OET English requirements by regulator.
You can change all four later. The plan follows your own time zone, which the page saves from your device.
Getting the plan on your phone
Under "Where should we send your plan?" pick one place: WhatsApp (recommended), Telegram, Email or None. Then pick the days (Every day; Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday; or Once a week) and a time between 05:00 and 22:00 in your local time. "No messages on Fridays" is ticked unless you untick it. WhatsApp needs your number and your agreement. Telegram needs the Connect Telegram button. See WhatsApp messages and Telegram.
On WhatsApp or Telegram you can reply DONE to tick your next task, TODAY to see today's tasks and TOMORROW to move today's tasks to tomorrow.
Questions about this
What if I have not booked my exam?+
Tick "I haven't booked yet" in the plan form. You still get a plan from your hours a week, profession and target. Add your exam date later and the plan adjusts.
What does "Free" next to a task mean?+
It is a task that is not part of a course you bought, such as a free practice page. Tasks from your own courses have no Free tag.
Can I change my hours or exam date?+
Yes. Press the days-to-exam badge on the Today card, change your answers and press "Save and build my plan". The plan is rebuilt straight away.
Which days and times can I choose for messages?+
Every day; Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday; or once a week, at any hour from 05:00 to 22:00 in your local time. Fridays are quiet unless you untick that box.
