Steps

After you pay, Day 1 arrives by email as soon as your payment is confirmed.

Open the lesson page from the email. Sign in if the page asks you to. See sign in and devices.

Read the day's mission and answer the questions. For each one, pick an answer, choose your confidence, then press "Check my answer".

Use the day's PDF if you prefer to print and write by hand. Answers are in the key at the back.

Come back the next day for the next lesson. Days 14 and 15 compare your results with Day 1.
What it is
Fifteen days to find out why you lose marks, not just where, across Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and then fix the cause. Days 1 to 3 find the cause, Days 4 to 10 take each sub-test in turn and Days 11 to 15 repair it. One lesson arrives a day by email. See the OET Detective Challenge page.
Lesson page or PDF
The content is the same. Use the lesson page, the PDF, or both.
- Lesson page: answers are checked as you go, with an explanation. In Listening the recording plays first and the script appears after you answer. Your work is saved as you type, on your devices.
- PDF: you write on the printed pages, and the answer key is at the back. Scripts are printed separately. The PDF carries your name and email, and prints a link to that day's recordings. Keep your pages for Day 14.
Recordings are played on the page and are not offered as downloads. In the exam you hear each recording once.
Access
The Detective Challenge is open for 90 days from the day you pay, on two signed-in devices. See access length and refunds. The challenge teaches method. A teacher's letter correction is sold separately: see our OET correction packages.

How long do I have access?+
90 days from the day you pay. You can use the course on two devices signed in with your email, and each day's PDF carries your name and email.
Do I have to print the PDFs?+
No. The lesson page and the PDF have the same content. The page checks your answers as you go and saves your work. The PDF is for printing and writing by hand.
Does the challenge include letter corrections?+
No. It teaches method across all four sub-tests. A teacher's letter correction is sold separately in our correction packages.
How many lessons are there?+
